Emergency Light Testing

Our experienced testers conduct over 14,000 emergency lighting tests every year in properties across the country. They test and inspect all units to ensure they’re functioning correctly.

Emergency lighting systems need testing regularly to make sure they are in good working order and each emergency lamp illuminates correctly. British Standard BS5266 recommends this should be done on a monthly basis or as determined by the fire risk assessment. There are penalties for non-compliance.

How is an Emergency Lighting Test Conducted?

Test facilities often take the form of a fishtail key inserted into a specific switch, either near the main fuse board or relevant light switches.

Additional Combined Services

We also offer a number of additional services which are available alongside our regular monthly emergency lighting or weekly fire alarm tests.

Services such as meter readings and smoke detector tests can be integrated to form part of your regular testing routines. By combining services together in this way several tests can be conducted during a single service visit. This reduces the number of visits to site, maximising efficiency and saving money. Pre-service audit

Our pre-service audit enables us to design a comprehensive testing procedure for every building, allowing our testers to examine your system safely and successfully. This means we can test your emergency lighting systems and report with complete building knowledge, ensuring the service runs as smoothly as possible.

Tenant Liaison

When tenants are happy we know it means less work for you. Our testers liaise with on-site personnel prior to each emergency lighting test to avoid confusion and minimise disruption.

Clear Reports & Records

Clear testing information is distributed to you through monthly electronic reports with serious faults reported on the day they are identified. Visit records are witnessed and are also kept off-site so that you can call upon them in the event of a significant incident.
