Surveys & Re-Inspections

Dutyholders are required to identify and manage any ACMs present in their buildings, as well as any potential ACMs that may be disturbed during demolition or refurbishment works. An asbestos survey is required in all non-domestic premises constructed up to 1999 unless there is evidence to prove that no asbestos is present.

Our subsidiary Strategic Risk Management (Asbestos) Limited can help dutyholders determine whether there is any asbestos present in their building with a variety of asbestos surveys.

We are able to undertake the following types of asbestos survey in accordance with the requirements of HSG 264.

Asbestos Management Survey

Used to locate any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation work.

Refurbishment and Demolition Survey

This type of survey is needed prior to carrying out any refurbishment or demolition work. Our clients use this survey to locate ACMs where refurbishment is taking place or in the whole building in the case of demolition.

Asbestos Re-inspections

Once you have undertaken a survey it does not need repeating but as part of your on-going asbestos management plan there is a requirement to monitor the condition of any ACMs present. Following your Asbestos Survey we can help you manage your on-going Asbestos Management Plan by conducting Asbestos Re-inspection Surveys to monitor and report on the condition of any ACMs previously identified.

Expertise

All our surveyors are specialists in their field, qualified as a minimum to British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P402 proficiency certificate.

Practical Advice

Following the survey we will be able to provide professional recommendations on any ACMs identified to assist you in the implementation of your Asbestos Management Plan.

Quality

We are committed to service quality. All our survey work is covered by our quality management system and passes through a rigorous quality control process.

Simple Management

We are also able to offer web-based access to your asbestos survey records via our SRManager system. Our dedicated asbestos module provides:

  • An at-a-glance view of the asbestos risks in your properties including photographic evidence.
  • Management reports can be generated showing last inspection dates, asbestos condition, recommendations and actions taken.
  • Classification of outstanding asbestos actions by material risk category.
