Metro Safety certified for the design & verification of fire alarms

Mark Jefferson extended2

Congratulations to Mark Jefferson and the maintenance team for successfully passing our recent BAFE inspection. It’s great to see our commitment to excellence being reflected in our accreditations.

In terms of fire alarm design and verification Metro Safety has the following accreditations:

  • Fire alarm design to BS5839-1
  • Fire alarm design to BS5839-6
  • Fire alarm verification to BS5839-1
  • Fire alarm verification to BS5839-6

This means we can also issue certificates of conformity for commercial and residential fire alarm systems that have been designed by Metro Safety and installed by our BAFE accredited installers.

Ian Simcott, Managing Director said “We have been told that Metro Safety is a one of a small number of companies who have certification for both the design and verification of fire alarms in residential properties (BS5839-6).

Well done again, it's great to see our commitment to excellence being reflected in our accreditations."

BAFE SP203 1 Logo

BAFE is the independent third-party registration body for the fire protection industry.

Metro Safety is BAFE certified under scheme SP203-1 Fire detection and alarm systems, design.

The scheme recognises the importance of providing compliant systems while at the same time minimising false alarms. It aims to give fire protection system users and regulatory authorities confidence that accredited companies providing fire alarm systems, have processes in place to effectively undertake such activities within their defined scope of work.

Our consultancy division Metro SRM is BAFE certified under scheme SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment.

This scheme is designed to give assurance to those commissioning fire risk assessments and give confidence in the quality and relevance of the services being provided. It is essential that the fire risk assessor is a competent person, and the fire risk assessor has a duty of care to the organization on which legislation imposes a requirement for the fire risk assessment.

For more information on our other accreditations please see our accreditations page.
